Cogeneration - A Technology Reborn
Article Abstract:
The growth of cogeneration systems is examined. Cogeneration is an energy technology that was first used in 1888 when an electric lighting system was designed by Edison. Cogeneration is being used by electric utilities who want to reduce their energy costs. Utilities that have large reserve capacities and slow growth are not using cogeneration systems. Joint venture cogeneration projects are being planned for the future. All types of organizations can take advantage of cogeneration technology. Trends in cogeneration technology are examined.
