Computers for Business: Have You Thought about Maintenance for Your Computer?
Article Abstract:
Maintenance contracts are strongly recommended for purchasers of business computers. Not all manufacturers and dealers offer contracts, in which case, a buyer may contract with a third party maintenance company. In Australia, Control Data is the largest such organization servicing not only their own machines, but DEC's, Apple's, Cromemco's and Data General's. Macroset has contracted to provide twenty-four hour service to Qantas for several years. Many manufacturers and third party companies, like Computerplus, prefer to service only large installations. Dealers who handle a variety of computers have problems providing good service to the single user and small business.
