Article Abstract:
Forming a credit policy helps to maximize credit benefits and minimize the risks. Management guidelines are given for forming an effective credit policy that is in line with company objectives. Measuring credit operation, formulating a credit policy, and implementing credit procedures are the three steps for establishing an efficient credit department. Factors that influence credit policy are detailed. Creating an atmosphere that encourages all employees to be involved with the policy is recommended. A written policy leaves little room for misunderstanding and promotes consistent decisions.

Their processor should take discount rate so that they can avoid separate payments for extra services. Furthermore, it should honor all major credit cards. Credit payments should also be processed electronically and 24-hour customer service must be provided. Companies must likewise avail the services of a central agency which can collect payments and offer other services.
