The Higher Education Contribution Scheme funded universities and colleges are allowed to hike the fees up to 25% and the loan available to the students for higher education is revised from $36,000 to $50,000. The higher cost will affect many who cannot afford to pay the fees. The education policy Education Minister Brendan Nelson is criticized for depriving the Australian citizens opportunity for higher education.
