Laws relating to employers' management of personnel are discussed. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act prevents employee discrimination; the Family and Medical Leave Act entitles employees to 12 weeks of unpaid leave per year on the birth or adoption of a child; and the Fair Labor Standards Act deals with overtime payment requirements.
