EDS net jumps to $221.9 million, beats forecasts
Article Abstract:
Electronic Data Systems Corp. (EDS) posted a major rise in its net income for the second-quarter of 1998. The company posted the increase to $221.9 million. This was higher than what analysts had predicted. The figures also reflected EDS' turnaround from a troubled 1997. The company said that it improved in all but one of its market segments. However, EDS cautioned that its profits for the 1998 third-quarter and for all of 1998 may be lowered by eight cents a share.

HDTV's boundaries develop some fuzziness
Article Abstract:
Although high definition television sets are supposed to be the latest and the greatest thing to hit your home, manufacturers seem to be facing some difficulties. For example, should the new TV's be wide and long like the movies or short and stubby like the old sets? Even more perplexing is the concept that the products out there are not high definition at all.
