Ex-president Chun indicted in '80 massacre

South Korean authorities indicted Chun Doo Hwan on Jan 23, 1996, on charges that he masterminded the May 1980, massacre of pro-democracy demonstrators that resulted in at least 240 deaths. Chun and another former president Roh Tae Woo were also charged with accepting political bribes.

Indian massacre figures, site revised
Article Abstract:
Security officials in Brazil reported that 16, instead of 73, Yanomami Indians were killed by gold miners. The officials also reported that most of the killings occurred in Haximu, which was in Venezuela rather than Brazil.
