Manufacturing technology and strategy formulation: keys to enhancing competitiveness and improving performance
Article Abstract:
Research shows that manufacturing companies that invest in advanced technology and allow participation of managers in strategy formulation will be more competitive and have better performance. Valid and reliable measures were developed from the results of a survey. Results of a linear structural equation analysis reveal positive and significant statistics in the relationships between competitive capabilities and practices.

Strategy, advanced manufacturing technology and performance: empirical evidence from U.S. manufacturing firms
Article Abstract:
Based on responses from 160 U.S. manufacturers research describing the relationship between strategy, advanced manufacturing technology (AMT) and performance is presented. By splitting AMT into further dimensions the study concludes that superior performance is associated with the fit between AMT and strategy.
