Food wholesalers industry
Article Abstract:
Revenue and earnings gains for the wholesale food industry are likely to be modest with slow growth in the economy in 1996. The industry itself has become more competitive, along with greater competition in the retail food business. Increased use of electronic data interchange and consolidation are making some food distributors more competitive than others. Several stocks are good investments, although the industry is not timely as a whole.

Food wholesalers industry
Article Abstract:
The wholesale food industry faces increasing competition, and shares are not expected to outperform the market during the 1996-1997 period. The larger well-managed companies are automating warehouses, improving communications, and eliminating unprofitable lines. Companies such as Fleming, which is recovering from restructuring, may become good investments for the longer term.
