Article Abstract:
Ford Motor Co. said that the company's new Focus compact is geared to sell one million vehicles a year worldwide. The production will be split between Europe, the U.S. and south America. Ford was able to cut Focus development costs 25% with its four year old "Ford 2000" reorganization. The Ford Focus was the first vehicle developed since the reorganization, and it is expected to be profitable. Ford said the Focus can sell in the U.S. and Europe with minimal changes.
