Ford names Paillart to lead credit union; Whipple to step down

Ford Motor Co. has appointed Philippe Paillart as the new chairman and CEO of Ford Credit. Ford Credit is a division of Ford Motor's Financial Services Group. Ford also announced that Kenneth Whipple will retire as the Financial Services Group's president and as the executive vice president of the parent firm. The company has not said if Mr. Paillart will be taking over Mr. Whipple's other posts upon his retirement. Mr. Whipple currently holds the posts that have been appointed to Mr. Paillart.

Wiley is president of Atlantic Richfield, as Wade steps down
Article Abstract:
Atlantic Richfield Co. (ARCO) announced that its president, William E. Wade, was retiring from his post. ARCO said that it has restructured the post of president. Michael E. Wiley has been appointed to replace Mr. Wade. Mr. Wiley was an executive vice president with ARCO. He will also be assuming the new position of chief operating officer. Mr. Wade was appointed as company president in January 1998.
