Rock-Tenn aims to increase its earnings by cost-cutting after two tough years
Article Abstract:
Rock-Tenn was reeling for awhile, when a company it acquired in early-1997 started losing $1 million per month. That was then; now everything is coming back into balance, but more cost-cutting is planned. The converted products and paperboard maker will close two facilities, one in Michigan and one in North Carolina. It will work on improving capacity-utilization rates. Reducing expenses is a goal as well.
