Franchise group in row with tax board
Article Abstract:
Mobile Accounting Professionals (MAP), the Brisbane-based national tax and accounting franchise group, is in dispute with some of its members and at conflict with the Queensland Tax Agents Board (Board). Several franchisees, or employees, claim to have been misled when joining MAP. Several members paid $40,000-60,000 for a franchise expecting to gain the experience needed to become registered tax agents. However, the Board states that people working for franchises do not normally meet the Board's criteria for registration.
