From experience: linking product innovation to business growth
Article Abstract:
The linkage between product innovation and business growth is determined by the three drivers of the innovation engine: the fraction of revenues invested in product innovation, new product revenue gain and the behavior of revenue over time. These three drivers describe the movement of investment between the producer and the consumer, with the producer investing part of the revenues in the resources needed in the production of new products. The relationship is characterized in the product vintage chart where revenue growth is treated as a function of Rsearch and development investment.
