A model of R&D leadership and team communication: the relationship with project performance
Article Abstract:
The authors describe a five-factor team communication model that includes the following components: team boundary spanning, leadership role performance, team reflexivity, communication safety, and task communication. Tests of the model show that the strongest customer rating performance predictor is communication safety, while the effectiveness of boundary spanning is increased if performed not by the team but by the project leader.
