Fund-management rivalry; Singapore, Hong Kong vie for foreign interest
Article Abstract:
The government of Singapore is implementing several programs in a push to aid its mutual fund management industry and position Singapore as the premier domicile for foreign mutual fund managers doing business in Asia, a title now enjoyed by Hong Kong. The Singapore government plans to increase the amount of governemnt capital investged in private fund comapnies from S$10 billion to S$25 billion and will relax investment adviser licensing requirements.
