GM pickup safety to be investigated
Article Abstract:
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Dec 8, 1992, convened an investigation into the safety of General Motors pickup trucks. The trucks had been criticized for being unsafe. Trucks made between 1973 and 1987 had one gas tank built into the side of the vehicle outside the frame.

Isuzu to end passenger-car production
Article Abstract:
Isuzu Motors announced on Dec 19, 1992, that it would stop manufacturing passenger cars, and concentrate on trucks, recreational vehicles and diesel engines. Isuzu's domestic sales dropped to 15,000 cars annually at the end of the firm's fiscal year in 1992.
