Get with the program
Article Abstract:
Employee assistance programs(EAPs) have gained favor among some companies as an alternative to expensive counseling offered by health insurance plans. With EAP, employees can avail of confidential counseling services at a fixed annual rate and with special focus on how their problems are affecting the work they do. While this may be a viable option, make sure to check the provider's range of services, staff, counseling and referral practices, accessibility, utilization rate, feedback procedure, client lists, promotional and educational materials and indemnification package.

Ensuring manageable insurance
Article Abstract:
Increasing insurance costs are forcing companies to give more attention to coverage management. Better rates can be obtained if coverages extend over a longer time period and if underwriters are more informed of company claims-management programs. Market fluctuations can also be avoided by closing insurance contracts earlier. Finally, premium payments may be lowered by avoiding loss claim inaccuracies.
