In the beginning
Article Abstract:
Newly hired employees on their first day on the job should be accorded special attention. This is a suggestion from the Practical Supervision newsletter which also states that the first day has a considerable impact on the employee's morale and enthusiasm. A provided duty list should be reinforced with personal discussions on important aspects of the job to ensure that work priorities are clearly stated. Making the employee feel at home and needed is also recommended.
