Deloitte, KPMG, Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) are projecting 10% revenue growth a year from the public sector. The companies' strategies are presented in the wake of government change in Australia. The services offered to the governments on public private partnerships (PPP) by the Big Four are presented. The new international financial reporting standards (IFRS) that present opportunities for the public sector is also examined.

Sydney-based accounting firm Saccasan Bailey Partners increased its revenue by offering branded services during the introduction of the Australian goods and services tax. Revenue is expected to increase 26% in 2002-03, rising to $3.4 million.
