Implementation of TQM in China and organisation performance: an empirical investigation
Article Abstract:
A survey of 120 manufacturing and service companies in China revealed that the ability of total quality management (TQM) to improve organization performance is dependent on the level of its execution. Several principles were also studied on their importance to the implementation of TQM, such as leadership and commitment, customer focus, continuous improvement, getting things right the first time, just-in-time, competitive benchmarking, cost of quality, teamwork, employee involvement, training, recognition and reward, and communication. How proper execution of these aspects can lead to a good TQM implementation is explained.
