Insurance (diversified) industry
Article Abstract:
The diversified insurance industry is likely to face earnings downturns in 1998. The unhospitable market will drive acquisitions in property and casualty and other insurance sectors, such as bonds. Expenses for year 2000 computer compliance and inclement weather losses will also have a negative impact. Even though interest rates are expected to decrease, the affect will not be significant.

Insurance (diversified)
Article Abstract:
The diversified insurance industry is expected to be an average performer in late 1996 and early 1997. The consolidation of property/casualty, municipal bond and life insurance companies and insurance brokers is expected to continue resulting in fewer firms with tighter bottom lines. The industry will face challenges throughout the rest of the century.
