Apple's new system is smart and stable, but wait to upgrade
Article Abstract:
Apple Computer's Mac OS X is a finely designed and easy to use operating system which is built like corporate models, the first overhauled model since 1984. The system allows for multitasking without crashing. The customer might do well to wait for an upgrade which should feature the ability to play CDs and DVDs. The system is also sluggish on slower machines.

It's far from perfect, but new Mac system is a big step forward
Article Abstract:
Apple's $99, Mac OS 8, the company's newest operating system, offers greater stability and more Internet features than any of Apple's other operating system revisions. The new operating system only will work with machines equipped with the PowerPC chip or the 68040, its immediate predecessor. Mac OS 8 also requires. The Finder on Mac OS 8 is a great new feature. It is capable of doing several tasks simultaneously, such as filing copying without losing speed. The has several drawbacks one of which is the lack of information on what programs are being run or the ability to jump back and forth quickly between programs. Installing the system on a Apple clone is a smoother process than installing it on an Apple machine.

The best 'jukebox' for playing MP3 tunes may surprise you
Article Abstract:
A comparison of the three most popular virtual jukebox software programs for downloading and collecting songs off the Internet in MP3 format reveals the least well-known program to be preferable. The programs compared were Nullsoft's Winamp, RealNetworks' RealJukebox and MusicMatch Inc.'s MusicMatch Jukebox. The most versatile of the three was MusicMatch Jukebox, version 4.1, which is especially good in the way it handles MP3 tag data. Winamp is decent, but pays scant attention to tag data and can't display lyrics or photos. RealJukebox has received lots of hype, but is computerish in its approach, although it has a nice feature in its ability to download songs directly to handheld music players. Unfortunately, RealJukebox hardly uses or comprehends MP3 tag data.
