Jets pick Johnson first in NFL draft

The 1996 National Football League draft was held Apr 20-21, 1996, and the New York Jets had the first pick. Keyshawn Johnson, a wide receiver from USC, was selected by the Jets. The positions of running back, offensive tackle and wide receiver were well represented in the pool of players.

Bengals pick Carter first in NFL draft
Article Abstract:
Carter, an underclassman running back from Penn State, was the first player selected in the 1995 NFL draft. Evaluations of the draftees and maneuvers by football clubs to increase their draft selections are discussed. Coach and player contracts are also listed.

Patriots pick Bledsoe first in NFL draft

The New England Patriots selected Washington State quarterback Bledsoe as the first drafted player of the 1993 NFL draft. The Seattle Seahawks selected the second player, Notre Dame quarterback Rick Mirer.
