Article Abstract:
Aspiring project managers often receive inadequate training to cope with the demands of their jobs. The lack of competent practitioners willing to act as mentors, scarce opportunities to personally observe project leadership and time lags in projects serve to make project management training a difficult task. However, project managers can learn first-hand what successful project management by using experiential model-building simulations similar to those used by professional soldiers.

Empowerment and the management of an organizational transformation project
Article Abstract:
More project managers are using empowerment strategies to gain an edge over their competitors. However, some managers are reluctant to implement highly-complex and time-consuming empowerment strategies for fear that their organizations and employees would not be up to the demands of such strategies. A limited empowerment strategy is suitable in such cases. The implmentation of a limited empowerment strategy in a bank in the process of installing a new information system is presented.
