Lend Lease goes into Russia with caution
Article Abstract:
The Australian property-development company Land Lease is entering the Russian market cautiously. It is attempting to hedge risk by agreeing to build only after potential office places have leases. This is a way of avoiding the Warsaw trouble of having offices without renters. The Russian and East European market is high risk but its big profits are attracting many developers.

Persuading the cash-conscious banker to lend
Article Abstract:
Entrepreneurs should learn how bankers loan money to new ventures. Banks take on more risk when they loan to fledgling firms, but the rewards can be great. Bankers need entrepreneurs to have one to two alternative ways to repay the loan, such as holding land, stocks or insurance policies. Bankers risk more, but make their profits on net interest income.
