Lion's desert prowl
Article Abstract:
Havilah Resources, supported by the $4 million investment of mining fund Lion Selection Group Ltd., has been drilling for gold in the Tanami Desert region of Western Australia, and Lion will release the exploratory results. The second phase of drilling in the Highland Rocks area will be confined to about six prospecting areas. If Havilah's drilling is successful, Lion could receive up to 80% of the company and would then try to find a senior partner for the Havilah tenements.

New hopes for old dreams in the Pilbara
Article Abstract:
Mining companies such as Resolute are exploring for gold deposits near the Pilbara iron mining region of Western Australia. Difficult access has impeded exploration for non-ferrous minerals, but a survey conducted by the Dept of Minerals & Energy and the Australian Geological Survey is expected to add valuable information. Other companies exploring the area include joint ventures Sipa-Lynas and Gindalbie-Croesus.
