Lolita and the lawyers
Article Abstract:
The book 'Lo's Diary' is based loosely on the classic Vladimir Nabokov novel, 'Lolita.' 'Lo's Diary,' written by Pia Pera was first published in 1995 in Italy, and US publication of the book was postponed when Nabokov's son claimed that the book infringed on the copyright for 'Lolita.' The case was settled out of court, but raised questions about copyright law for borrowed literature that remain unresolved.
