Measuring performance in entrepreneurship research
Article Abstract:
Performance measurements in entrepreneurship studies from 1987 to 1993 are analyzed. Results show that different studies use different measures while 60% of studies selected performance dimensions without basis. It is argued that entrepreneurship studies can be improved by specifying performance dimensions being examined, developing a theory-based rationale for examining a particular dimension and including multiple performance dimensions.
