Managing your job search
Article Abstract:
Employees should be prepared to undertake their own job search programs in the event that they become victims of corporate downsizing. When that event happens, a home office should be set up immediately if no outplacement services are available. Once the home office is established, a cover letter and resume should be prepared. Job summaries should be written for each position previously held and mailed in such a way that these arrive in the middle of the week. A record should be kept of all correspondence sent out and all follow-up calls made two or three days after expected receipt of application. Employment opportunities can be sourced from personal networks, agencies, and classified ads. Prospective employees being offered positions should focus negotiations on the salary and incentive scheme, as well as advancement opportunities, that the prospective job offers.

Toward better collections
Article Abstract:
Effective account collection techniques make an important difference in the finances of a company. Each business is unique, and its customers have unique paying styles. Before setting up an account, research should be done as to the previous credit patterns of the customer. In addition to preliminary research, an accounts department should keep in touch with what is currently happening in the industry that might affect payment. Follow through and changes in arrangements should be considered where necessary. A useful aid to keeping track is a flow chart tracking the sequences of the payment cycle for each customer.

Strategies for a successful job search
Article Abstract:
A successful job search requires development of job and and career objectives and an up-to-date resume. The resume should be printed rather than typed. Additional tools include: the classifieds, the help of associates and friends, professional groups, government services, mass mailings, and employment agencies. Early arrival is suggested for the interview, as well as proper attire, a relaxed manner, and careful preparation.
