Article Abstract:

Differential wealth gains arising from joint ventures according to various managerial and strategic characteristics of the venture and their partner firms were hypothesized. To assess market valuations of joint ventures a study method and a generalized regression analysis were applied to test the hypotheses. Market valuations of joint ventures depend on the relationship between partners, the nature of each partner's contributions, and the degree and type of control shareholders and partners exercise.

Organizing for internally developed corporate ventures

Article Abstract:

The factors influencing motivation of in internally developed corporate ventures are investigated. Comparison of the job satisfaction and retention models for autonomous venture managers (AVM) and departmental managers reveal the positive influences of structural and reward systems. The organizational commitment model shows that accelerated promotions, venture groups, a long term orientation and internal locus of control establishes the AVMs sense of loyalty to the company.

Japanese corporate ventures: success curve

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted on thirty eight Japanese corporate ventures to determine the feasability of using constraint analysis in a Japanese setting, to establish a relationship between the analysis and state of success and to establish the factors of success and form a program of action in corporate ventures. Success factors and their correlations were discovered and a program of action is presented.
