Metrics for measuring product development cycle time
Article Abstract:
Measurement of cycle time in every company is important to determine whether a new process or product has short development cycles. The factors include project characteristics, outcome variables and development process variables. Complexity and difference from previous product should also be described. Outcome measures include product commercial success, customer satisfaction and the cost and time for developmentof the process. Development process variables include driving reason for product development, types of process used, organization aspects and the techniques used.

Life-cycle management of supplier literature: the pertinent issues
Article Abstract:
The adoption of efficient design information management strategies is crucial in enhancing the marketing competence of modern-day firms, as it leads to the development of high-quality and reliable products and services. Results gathered from a sample of production engineers revealed that firms that utilize obsolete supplier information tend to create products with suboptimal qualities. The use of outdated information has been further shown to cause significant delays in the life-cycle of products.

Creativity + business discipline = higher profits faster from new product development
Article Abstract:
A study investigated the association between new product development analysts' Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Creativity Index and their effectiveness in assessing early-stage new product development projects using data on 267 new product development projects within a Fortune 500 chemical company. Results indicate a considerably strong correlation among breakthrough creativity, non-linear branching thought and new product development profits earned.
