Motorola Inc. is hoping to promote its Talkabout T900 electronic messenger via e-mail sent to the 18-to-24-year-old audience. The promotional campaign, involving a video character named 'Silent Bill' sent to young computer users as an e-mail attachment, is designed to attract attention, then be sent on to other Internet-linked friends. The campaign, also known as viral marketing, was designed by Amsterdam-based BlueberryFrog.
