Move over, Rudolph? Here comes Target's snowman

Target is making plans to be unique this Christmas of 1998, as unique as Rudolph which was created by Montgomery Ward 60 years ago. Snowden is Target's stuffed doll from Christmas 1997 when there was a companion book. All 500,000 stuffed Snowdens sold. This year Snowden is going to be in a television special and make "personal" appearances, such as dancing with the Rockettes in New York City. Snowden will also appear on pajamas, tree skirts and other merchandise.

Two start-ups plan to market unsold radio time on the Web
Article Abstract:
Two companies, Broadcastspots.com and Adauction.com, plan to start selling radio ad time on their Web sites. Their idea is to conduct last-minute sales of discounted radio time that would otherwise be lost by radio stations. The sites will let stations showcase spots to hundreds of media buyers at once, and to sell them almost immediately.
