Moving your company online
Article Abstract:
Companies have much to gain by engaging in electronic commerce. It can result in improved customer service, keep product and account information always up to date, and facilitate immediate response to customer orders. Moreover, electronic commerce can expand the customer base of companies because their products and services are more accessible. In planning their Web sites, companies should first determine their objectives and options to ensure the success of the online activity. They should also evaluate their customers, decide on the corporate image they want to project, and prepare for complexities and legal requirements associated with going global because electronic commerce reaches international audiences. Suggestions on how to implement and maintain a Web site are discussed.
