NCR's 5070 Interior ATM Sets New Industry Standards

Article Abstract:

NCR's new 5070 automated teller machine (ATM) features a compact design that can result in savings of up to twenty percent in list price and replenishment costs and as much as fifty per cent in maintenance costs. It also has a variety of unique features, including a graphic display that provides a customer lead-through, a privacy filter so that only the customer can read the information, an ink jet programmable printing depository that eliminates most of the information that is normally on deposit envelopes, and the NCR Voice Responder for voice lead-through and special messages. An in-lobby 5070 sells for $14,900; off-site models sell for $16,900.

Companies that have set up employee committees to handle employee complaints and other workplace matters or who employs participatory management are warned of the legal repercussions of such an action. The National Labor Relations Board has ruled that many types of employee involvement programs may be labor organizations dominated by management, and may therefore be unlawful. Companies are thus urged to review their employe participation programs.
