An aging population in industrialized countries indicates a potentially huge superannuation market, spurring increased mergers as firms seek a larger market share through size. Australia's superannuation value is expected to hit more than A$600 billion by 2002.

Time running out for choosing a good strategy
Article Abstract:
Employers should use the Australian government's reprieve in launching a superannuation choice-of-fund mandate by selecting programs that limit their liability. One possible strategy is to incorporate a fund agreement into the workplace agreement, placing the responsibility for obtaining fund information on the employee instead of the employer.
