Networks sacrifice millions to run Clinton tape
Article Abstract:
The Clinton tapes aired by local T.V. affiliates throughout the United States during day-time and more importantly during access time may have been sucessful in attracting viewers but cost the networks dearly in terms of revenue.Television news was seen as a lagard when the Starr report was released as millions logged on to the internet to view it's contents rather than viewing the local news.Television news agencies quitted critics with their coverage of the Clinton tapes but cost themselves millions in ad revenue to do it.

"Must See TV" folks sell "Must Buy" dog dishes
Article Abstract:
The most-watched network TV station, NBC, will try capitalizing on a phrase to make a few more bucks-"Must See TV" will become "Must Saw Logs" on sheets sold by Penney stores, a dog collar might say, "Must Hog Sofa" or "Must Freak Cat." Licensing arrangements are underway and sales could begin this fall in stores. It's not an entirely new idea, just new for NBC. Fox TV has sold "Simpsons" and "X-Files" merchandise with success.
