New-home sales rose 6.1% in June

The Commerce Dept reported that sales of new homes rose 6.1% in June 1995, reaching a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of 728,000 units. Southern and Western states experienced the biggest jump in sales. The median selling price in Jun 1995, was $132,000, down from $133,000 in May 1995.

Home resales rose 0.7% in September
Article Abstract:
The National Assoc of Realtors reported that sales of existing homes increased by 0.7% in Sep 1995, the fifth consecutive increase. Sales were strongest in the Midwest and Northeast. The median sales price decreased from $117,600 in Aug 1995, to $115,200 in Sep 1995.

The National Assoc of Realtors reported that sales of existing homes reached an annual rate of 4.11 million units in Aug 1995, an increase of 3% from Jul 1995. The median selling price increased from $113,000 in Jul 1995, to $117,600 in Aug 1995.
