New toothbrush is big-ticket item
Article Abstract:
Gillette's Oral-B Labs is introducing a new toothbrush that will cost consumers five bucks. The company could use a boost for its failing profits, drop in revenue and stock price, and generalized faltering financially. Oral-B contends the bristles, angled, not straight, will do a 25% better job of removing plaque. There is a fatter, rubberized handle which might promote longer brushing. After test-marketing the new Cross Action toothbrush, the company decided to price it at what the market would bear.
