Omnicom buys the rest of Abbott Mead Vickers, a London affiliate, in a deal worth $545 million

The world's largest ad agency, Omnicom, will spend the most to date on an acquisition of shares it does not already own of Abbott Mead Vickers P.L.C., the top London agency and 20th in the world. A.M.V. has billings of almost $600 million annually. It's clients include Volvo, British Telecommunications and The Economist. Omnicom will spend about $545 million in a stock deal for the firm that it already owns 27.7 percent of.
