On the inside looking out
Article Abstract:
The computer consulting firm Andersen McLean, Inc (San Jose, CA) conducted a survey of accounting software companies in 1989. Results of the survey reveal that the industry is characterized by: a few large firms with 100 or more employees and many small firms with less than ten employees; the lack of a trade or industry association; and a lack of interest among companies in belonging to trade organizations. Companies do not want a trade association because the industry has a high degree of secrecy and members are unwilling to share information. Industry members identified trends that will shape the accounting software market in the future including expanded local area networks; increased use of graphical interfaces; and a move to UNIX from DOS.

How to finance your investment opportunity internally: a note
Article Abstract:
The costs of a contract that pays off a constant amount when a certain underlying asset reaches a constant boundary diminish with ambiguity. A growth in uncertainty boosts the cost of the contract. Furthermore, the investment banker may hedge the instrument through investing the cost of the instrument and the dividends that accumulate. It was observed that the trigger value wherein investment ensues is not impacted by uncertainty.
