One step forward: Australian business will be better equipped to compete if a new bill becomes law

The New International Tax Arrangements Bill 2004 if passed, would reduce compliance costs and will make Australian firms with global presence better equipped for handling competition. The new bill will end the policy of taxing the profits and capital gains made by Australian companies with controlled foreign companies or overseas branches and the bill may be further developed to encourage foreign investors.
