Opportunity recognition and breakthrough innovation in large established firms
Article Abstract:
This article examines how large established companies can support breakthrough innovations through opportunity recognition. Research on innovation projects in 10 US firms indicate that inefficiencies in managerial and organizational processes hinder innovation development, and ways for executives to encourage innovation in processes and people are addressed.
