Pain before reward
Article Abstract:
Lower growth and employment rates in Europe and U.S. have deflated the respective economies. US Federal Reserve Bank is too is left with little choice but to raise interest rates to curb inflationary expectations. The paradox is increasing the interest rates rapidly or too much would result in sharp fall in demand for dollars in the Asian countries and also bring in problems for Americans who have resorted to availing heavy mortgage finance during the recent housing boom. Despite such fears US Federal Reserve Bank will have to increase the interest rates in 2005 for reviving the economy.
