Company officials at Peptech, the company that was involved in a patents dispute with Abbot Laboratories as well as Johnson and Johnson over an arthritis drug, said that they have entered into a settlement with Abbott. The settlement helped strengthen the company's share prices that had fallen sharply and has also given hope to a lot of similar smaller biotech companies that hope to en-cash their research.
