Project management in globalizing economies
Article Abstract:
Project management plays a vital role in improving the competitiveness of developing countries, such as South Korea. Project management, which encompasses the areas of production, marketing and service, can be undertaken through implementation of continuing education among top and middle managers. Such type of education should be dependent not only on the transfer of knowledge from industrialized countries, but also among local players. Establishment of strategic alliances among international and local institutions is also a must for companies implementing intensive education.

Estimating the tradeoff between resource allocation and probability of on-time completion in project management
Article Abstract:
Project Evaluation and Review Technique and Critical Path Method are project scheduling techniques developed in the 1950s that help project managers compute completion times and determine which activities to prioritize to avoid delaying project completion. However, both techniques do not adequately address the problem of estimating completion time. Combining the best features of both techniques in a single algorithm could allow project managers to accurately estimate the tradeoff between resource allocation and on-time completion probability vital to any successful project.
