Quick and easy ways to monitor forecasts
Article Abstract:
Computing for cumulative sales ratios may facilitate in the monitoring of forecasts. Steps include computing for quarterly sales ratios for previous years, computing for annual cumulative ratios and then preparing and comparing against current forecasts. The accuracy of the technique depends on the stability of sales ratios and may be used also to compute for monthly sales ratios.

Businesses should not undermine the importance of either order or shipment forecasts and instead strive to prepare both forecasts. Order forecasts provide information on marketplace trends, aid in production planning and are crucial for shipment forecasts. On the other hand, shipment forecasts are crucial in efficient cashflow forecasting.
