The open door policy of WMC Resources, wherein 18 old nickel mines in the Kambalda region of Western Australia were sold, is criticized. WMC chief executive Andrew Michelmore reveals that the mines with labor-intensive requirements were too small and difficult to manage for WMC. Though WMC has been a target of critics in the past year, it has achieved success on the stock market.
