Real estate taxation and commercial mortgage underwriting
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to evaluate the performance of mortgage loan underwriters from life insurance firms. The study focused on the reaction of these underwriters to tax benefit variations, following changes involving commercial real estate from 1969 to 1988. Results show tha insurance underwriters have failed to integrate the value of tax benefits in their decisions.

A theoretical model is developed to investigate calls of convertible bonds where an underwriter is also involved. In this research, a nonzero call price is used.
